2020 marks 30 years since Labuan’s birth as an international wholesale trade, finance, risk and asset intermediation centre.
In line with ‘Labuan IBFC: 30 Years of Intermediating Asia’, we are launching a series of four exclusive interviews.
This is the third installment of the interview series and is with the Chairman of Association of Labuan Trust Companies (ALTC). The Labuan trust companies are critical business enablers for Labuan IBFC and play a key role in facilitating incorporations and registrations of new businesses in the centre. In addition, they provide a comprehensive suite of services ranging from secretarial and administrative services to more complex custodial and trusteeship roles for the corporates as well as private clients. With the development of the jurisdiction in the last 30 years, there has also been significant growth in the trust and corporate services provider space. In 2019, the number of Labuan trust companies grew to 61. Find out in this interview how the association is planning for continued growth with talent development as more potential users show confidence in using Labuan IBFC as their business hub.
