Janice Aw
Janice Aw is currently Tax Director at KPMG Malaysia, handling a portfolio of listed and multinational companies from various industries, namely manufacturing, trading, investment holding, utilities, healthcare, construction and property development.
She is experienced in corporate tax restructuring, having advised local corporations on reorganisation, transfer of businesses/assets, withholding tax issues, tax audits, RPGT and stamp duty as well as tax due diligence exercises.
Janice has also assisted clients in liaising with regulatory authorities to apply for tax incentives. Some of her key areas of experience are corporate tax compliance, corporate tax due diligence reviews and corporate tax audits. -
Lee Bin Hau
Lee Bin Hau started his career in legal practice at a reputable firm in Beijing, China as a foreign legal counsel. In June 2016, Bin Hau joined Zaid Ibrahim & Co under the firm’s Trainee Associate programme. Later in April 2017, he was called to the Malaysian Bar and joined the firm as a senior associate.
Bin Hau has assisted in numerous cross-border corporate transactions including corporate restructuring exercises, foreign initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he has assisted in corporate advisory work and due diligence exercises. His exposure also includes matters in relation to the Labuan International Business and Financial Centre. Apart from that, Bin Hau has been involved in advising local and foreign financial institutions and companies on domestic and cross-border banking and finance matters, particularly on aircraft leasing and financing transactions. -
Serene Liaw
Serene Liaw is the Research Manager of Labuan IBFC Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA), the statutory Regulatory Authority for Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (Labuan IBFC), under the purview of Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. Labuan IBFC Incorporated serves as the jurisdiction’s official market development agency.
Prior to joining Labuan IBFC Incorporated, she was attached to Labuan FSA for more than 10 years and headed the Business Policy Unit there. Prior hands-on experience as a regulator on policy formulation and international tax compliance has provided Serene a deeper understanding of financial solutions as well as a solid foundation in the promotion and market development initiatives of Labuan IBFC.
