Labuan IBFC: Asia’s Preferred Captive Domicile (Tokyo)
Captives have long been used by companies as a means of mitigating corporate risk and retaining greater financial control via the active management of its risk premium payouts. However, a key consideration in establishing a captive is the selection of a jurisdiction the captive will be domiciled in.

So what do captive owners need to evaluate when choosing a captive domicile? And should Japanese corporates now start exploring an alternative domicile, conveniently located in the heart of Asia? Join us to better understand how Labuan IBFC compares to other more common captive jurisdictions used by Japanese corporations, and how being part of a broader and deeper risk management industry, will benefit your captive.

Labuan IBFC, in existence for more than 25 years, is home to more than 200 licensed risk management entities, including more than 40 captives and is one of the fastest growing insurance markets in Asia.
Anthony Egerton (Tony) has more than 30 years experience in the (re)insurance industry, specialising initially in the alternative risk transfer/structured finance sector with Centre Reinsurance in London, Hong Kong and New York. In 2003, he was appointed President, Asia-Pacific for Lloyd’s, based in Singapore, with responsibility for developing and implementing the market’s business development strategy across the region.
